Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCrucial Link is Hiring for Plastics Production Leaderin Stow, OhioJob Title Plastics Production LeaderDivision/Department Plastics Reports to Plant Manager – Plastics DivisionShift: 2nd 3pm – 11:30pm Pay Rate: $25Temporary To Hire Position, Eligible for benefits once hired on Must be able to pass background checkMust be able to pass drug testEssential Duties and Responsibilities• Oversee production (part quality, correct packaging/labeling)• Oversee production efficiencies for the shift• Coordinates with Plant Manager – Plastics Division and Plastic Processor Leader on the presses to run based on production line up, on scheduled Plastic Inspectors, part production run completion, and press maintenance needs• Set the press controls prior to the start of production for the shift• Conducts new hire Plastic Inspector orientation• Effectively utilize Plastic Inspectors• Assigns Plastic Inspectors to presses/work area• Coordinates daily with Plant Manager – Plastics Division on Plastics Inspectors performance• Assist with the implementation of part production work instructions• Ensure that Plastic Inspectors are trained on work instructions and sign off is documented• Run production• Monitor semi-automatic press cycle times• Assemble and trim production parts• Ensure that all customer requirements are fulfilled • Repairs minor press issues (out of material, shorts, flash)• Responsible for quality of part. Maintains signed off part in quality control• Handling scrap – labeling, counting, wrapping, storing, fixing, and recording.• Make sure that the shift is in good working order for the transition to the next shift• Complete the daily production report for the shift including Plastics Inspectors names, scrap, downtime, and total production • Clean auxiliary equipment• Maintain organized record keeping: files, work instructions & training of.• Ensure the top of the press work tables is protected to maintain a good appearance• Maintain painted, cleaned press work tables at each press• Maintain labeled garbage cans at each press• Make sure press work tables, paperwork in plastic sheet protectors, tool kits, and garbage cans are square to the wall• Daily organization of complete work area tool kits• Request requisitions for work area tool kit items as needed• Assist with breaks, assist floor persons, act as a Plastics Inspector.• Maintain MRP Responsibilities in EPICOR
Monitor
  • Monitor Priority Dispatch to understand production lineup
  • Monitor BOMs and report updates
  • Finish Subassembly production runs using Job Adjustment
  • Monitor Job Tracker for the status of production
  • Complete/Close Jobs following the conclusion of production (monitor Auto Completion/Closing)
  • Backup Floor Person responsibilities
  • Monitor job material levels at workstations
  • Physically move finished skids from workstation to wrapping station
  • Create and apply part label to finished skid
  • Report Quantity to Job
  • Create Manufacturing Receipt
  • Physically move finished skid to inventory(U1)

Ability/Skills• Can read and interpret mold setup process sheets and part production work instructions• Knows basic math• Can use weight scales• Basic skills for operating the required equipment• Able to operate computer, scanner and organize electronic file• Operate grinder for non- conforming production parts • Works with limited supervision.• Maintains a safe, clean, organized work environment• Treats team members with respect• Makes good decisions• Communicates effectively with all team members• Maintains a cooperative working relationships with all team members• Has the ability to be time conscious and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner• Acts within the letter and spirit of the laws of the United States, the States and municipalities in which the company operates• Follows all safety policies, rules, and regulations• Follows all policies and procedures of the company’s quality management system• Must be detail oriented• Ability to manage and handle consistent change to day to day operations and processes• Follows all company information technology procedures. • Allocates resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results• Analyzes and develops new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost• Follows all clean up and housekeeping procedures. • Assists in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.• Maintains organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work areas• Interested in personal development of the job
Accountability• Meeting the quality standards of the company while rework is held to a minimum.• Effectively communicate continuity among work shifts by documenting actions, irregularities and continuing needs• Complete any and all paperwork as required. • Maintain accurate records.• Reports issues in a timely manner to the Plant Manager-Plastics Division
Education and/or Work Experience Required • Language ability includes reading and writing• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements• Standing• Use hands to handle, or feel. • Required to reach with hands and arms. • Required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and; talk or hear.• Able to lift 50 pounds
