**Job Summary

**

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the S&R department to ensure timely and accurate work is completed by the S&R teams. The supervisor will train and oversee employees who record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load/unload. The supervisor will work with other department leaders to assess workforce needs and schedule appropriately to support the goals of the company. The S&R Supervisor is responsible for ensuring appropriate paperwork is completed and accurate data is entered into company systems.

**Essential Functions

**

  • Supervise shipping and receiving activities to maintain safety and quality standards.

  • Evaluate work schedule and hours required to stay ahead of the workflow; communicate with Production Manager in advance if additional hours are required or if issues arise that cannot be resolved.

  • Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of team members.

  • Communicate job expectations with personnel daily.

  • Ensures shipments are prepared and processed to meet customer timelines and demands.

  • Assist in the day-to-day shipping and receiving operations as needed, including preparing and packaging orders, loading and unloading of materials, and receiving and storing materials.

  • Supervise, train, and coordinate team members to support the needs of the business.

  • Communicate with vendors to ensure quality of work and processes to be used and to ensure prompt return of parts.

  • Assess efficiency and performance of department; identifies and recommends improvements to department, facility, and production manager.

  • Foster positive relationships with vendors, customers, and employees.

  • Provide support and guidance for team members including coaching, counseling, motivating, or disciplining as appropriate.

  • Ensure all documentation is completed timely and accurately.

  • Ensure activities of department support the company’s Quality Management System and ISO9001/AS9100 requirements.

  • Assist with assembly projects as requested by manager.

  • Communicate job statuses and other relevant information to necessary parties.

  • Ensure staff has appropriate supplies and equipment.

  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and safe.

**Required Education and Experience

**

  • Highschool diploma or GED Required
  • Degree in business administration, logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year leading teams preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working in warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Must be detail oriented to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

**Work Environment

**

This position is in a manufacturing shop environment that is clean and fast paced. Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time may be required. Some exposure to noise and various types of equipment is typical.

**Schedule

**

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will work the first shift which runs from 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM but should be flexible to the needs of the business and determine appropriate work schedule depending on varying workloads.

**Compensation

**

Compensation for this position will depend on experience and qualifications. Starting salary ranges from $55,000 annually.
