Summary
The Center is looking for a compassionate Counselor to work with patients in a residential treatment setting. The Counselor would need to be an LADC/ADC-T or LSW/LGSW. Depending on licensing the Counselor will provide services with clients in different manners. The Counselor will run and manage group counseling, documentation, and support patients in their recovery. LADC/ADC-Ts will also have duties surrounding treatment planning, comprehensive assessments, and developing effective coping mechanisms. LSW/LGSWs will provide case management, facilitate transitions outside of treatment, and advocating for patient necessities. Within a Residential Program, Counselors will ensure clients are meeting program goals, working on their living skills, finding housing & employment, and following their treatment plan. Counselors in our Residential run groups often and work with clients often.

This position would work Wednesday through Sunday as a part of women's residential program and provide group counseling on weekends.

Responsibilities:

Depending on license responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate group and individual counseling with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
  • Creating effective treatment plans that include counseling, case management or other services within the 12 core functions.
  • Discussing the treatment plan goal with your patient on a regular basis to identify faults or room for improvement.
  • Educating patients about appropriate coping mechanisms to help them through tough situations.
  • Recording the patient's progress and changing their treatment plan when needed.
  • Provide case management and patient advocacy.
  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
  • Develop life skills and setup supporting services.

Requirements:

  • Must have an LADC, ADC-T, LSW, or LSGW
    • If LSW or LGSW is exempt under 148F can perform duties as an LADC.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude to empathize with clients and help them open up.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Proven experience in developing effective treatment plans.
