Annie Malone presents an exciting opportunity for an on-site Staff Accountant

As the Staff Accountant at Annie Malone Children & Family Services, reporting to the CFO, you will focus on Accounts Receivables and Grant Fiscal Management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate a commitment and aptitude for timely delivery of all time-sensitive requests and reporting.
  • Must be able to perform analytical thinking and analysis, and work with a great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have the effective skills needed to communicate, verbal and written, with management and coworkers at all levels of the agency.
  • Must be able to be highly productive, accountable, and dependable and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must always display a professional and ethical manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare invoices for grants and contracts, based on agreed terms and conditions.
  • Work closely with Programs and Operations to ensure accuracy in billing.
  • Ensure timely revenue recognition and system posting.
  • Reconcile payments received against invoices and manage all grant budgeting processes.
  • Performs follow-up on open AR.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports.
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process, focusing on grant funding.
  • Support the annual fiscal audit.
  • Back-up for Accounts Payable including: completing payments, charging expenses to accounts and cost centers, paying vendors, and review of employee expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with computerized accounting software system.
  • Two or more years of related experience working with fiscal grant billing and reporting, in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience with month end close and analyzing financial statements.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft 365.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Range:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $55,000.
