Purpose

As the AOA Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable (AR) subsidiary ledger for multiple entities, ensuring all invoicing, payment, and reconciliation activities are executed with precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain AR subsidiary ledger for multiple entities, including processing payments, generating invoices, and managing write-off activities.
  • Prepare daily deposits of checks and credit card payments to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
  • Review and post invoices generated by various departments, ensuring compliance with AOA policies and procedures.
  • Maintains customer files, including creating new customer accounts, preparing write-offs, and issuing credit memos as necessary.
  • Prepare general ledger entries, including AR, cash management, general journal, and fixed assets accurately.
  • Conduct monthly financial reconciliations and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  • Generate monthly statements, review aging reports, and resolve discrepancies and overpayments promptly to ensure accurate and current records.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable and general ledger.
  • Experience with accounting/general ledger software such as Sage Intacct or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Practical experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
