SUMMARY: The Meat Production Worker is responsible for serving meat products to customers at counter and preparing meat products for sale or consumption by performing the following duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Recommends, slices, weighs, packages and prices meat & seafood products.
• Maintains and rotates products and displays to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
• Provides excellent service to meat counter customers by responding to requests and making recommendations.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition. Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand
• Ensures that food safety standards are followed for cooling and storage of food items to prevent an environment for exposure to bacteria associated with foodborne illnesses.
• Handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Takes necessary measures to avoid food waste.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
• Knowledge and understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to perform duties in a team environment.
• Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Continually required to stand
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Continually required to bend, stoop, or kneel
- Continually required to talk or hear
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specialized equipment, machines used: meat slicer, knives, dishwasher, box cutters, meat hooks
