Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounts, and supporting various accounting processes. The Staff Accountant must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of accountant and should enjoy a fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Essential Functions:

  • Performing reconciliations for various general ledger accounts in regards to Month-End Close Support
  • Processing improvements and Ad hoc projects in collaboration with the team
  • Tax Support includes assisting with implementation of Avalara, filing local county and state tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations and preparing tax corrections for sales transactions as needed
  • Account Reconciliation Support includes performing bank reconciliation, managing prepaid schedules, and maintaining fixed assets records
  • Reporting and Analysis Support responsibilities of generating detailed reports, extracting and presenting data from ERP systems, reporting on, line items and month-end financials, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to the Chart of Accounts
  • Analyzing financial information to provide insights, support decision-making processes, and engaging in analytics initiatives to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Adheres to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Data Sets, Pivot Tables and the ability to navigate large sheets of data
  • ERP system experience, preferably in Cloud Suite Distribution by INFOR
  • Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player, working collaboratively with others and delivering results as a team
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively
  • Must be able to communicate in English regarding the essential functions of the position.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Accounting.
  • Experience within the distribution industry is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds
  • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
