Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic will diagnose & perform mechanical repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of the Company fleet and will maintain a professional & polite manner, working together as a team. Work performed will be accurate and prompt using best practices while limiting expenses to the company. Monday - Friday, 40-50 hours per week


EESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Diagnose mechanical problems using your knowledge and the diagnostic equipment needed.
  • Ordering of mechanical parts and components needed to complete repairs.
  • Working together as a team, supporting co-workers with repairs.
  • Complete pre-operational check lists on all trucks, fork-lifts, and vehicles prior to use.
  • Inspect repairs completed and ensure correct repairs were made.
  • Communicate and work as a team with Fleet Manager and staff to ensure all aspects of the job are complete to satisfaction and safety standards.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and preventative care.
  • Report & record accurate labor hours and work orders.
  • Work irregular hours/staggered shifts as needed.
  • Answering/returning phone calls and/or e-mails, responding in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include the following:

  • Advanced knowledge of diesel gasoline, & propane engine maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs independently.
  • Must be familiar with computer operations, email, as well as the willingness to train and adapt to new technology and computer procedures as they evolve into the future.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Extensive knowledge & experience in the following: hydraulic systems, air brake systems, electrical system troubleshooting and repair, welding & fabrication, all types of heavy truck diagnosis and repair.
  • Must be able to pass initial & all random drug testing.
  • Must be able to pass a strength physical.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid Montana CDL.
  • Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the Company’s insurer.
