Student Success Coordinator

Under the direction of the school administrators, the Student Success Coordinator will actively supervise and monitor students in our online learning lab, coordinate technology check out, supervise/monitor the in-school suspension room and support new secondary students as they transition to Stargate middle and high school; performing related duties as assigned.

Our Mission Statement: Stargate School will provide a differentiated program designed specifically to meet the needs of identified intellectually gifted learners in order to challenge each student’s academic abilities, support their unique emotional needs, promote individual character development and encourage a life-long love of learning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school counselors to support students in their online learning
  • Monitor and supervise students who are utilizing their off period for academic acceleration and or remediation
  • Participates directly in communication between students, teachers, counselors, and principals
  • Progress monitor students’ online learning courses and help students stay on track with their online learning
  • Supervise and monitor student behavior in our online learning lab classroom
  • Supervise and monitor student behavior in our in-school suspension classroom
  • Check out computers to students as part of our daily computer loaner program
  • Meet with school counselors, teachers, and/or administrators as appropriate related to student academic and behavioral performance
  • Mentor gifted and twice exceptional students based on the needs communicated by teachers and/or administrators
  • Assist with new student orientation as appropriate
  • May assist and support the office staff as necessary
  • Maintain FERPA
  • Perform related duties as assigned





Requirements:

Education and Related Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Colorado Department of Education Substitute Teaching License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with students
  • One year experience providing general supervision to students or within a classroom environment preferred
  • Experience with working with school age children preferred
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Criminal background check required for hire

Technical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with online learning platforms preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Classroom
  • Proficiency with Google suite
  • Ability to promote and follow school policies, and building and department procedures
  • Strong executive functioning skills and organization
  • Ability to support students successful competition of online coursework
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds in a culturally responsive manner
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to read handwritten or typed documents, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines
  • Able to engage in verbal communication with proficiency
  • Able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walk
  • Able to stand for sustained periods of time
  • Able to walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion
