East Side Plating is currently hiring for a Pre-finisher for our day shift operation. The Pre-finisher performs bead-blast, roto-blast and part washing duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Focuses on and maintains productivity throughout the day and makes sure tasks are completed to closure
  • Is open to constructive criticism and willing to discuss, plan and improve where needed
  • Learns and retains new information on processes and parts
  • Fills out NCP form clearly and accurately and participates in non-conforming material review to improve quality
  • Works to reduce cost by doing it right the first time, learns from mistakes to drive waste out of processes, use less resources and proactively works to identify and resolve problems
  • Maintains a clean work area and sets an example for others
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement through suggestions/recommendations, preventative actions, communication, and teamwork. Also seeks additional knowledge, skills and responsibilities
  • Displays good judgment (knows when to stop and ask a question and when to proceed)
  • Utilizes resources to improve job, understands area goals and objectives
  • Follows safety guidelines and policy, doesn't pose a risk to others and understands required PPE for each area
  • Keeps focus on customer satisfaction and works to develop clarity around customer expectations and conforms to them
  • Make recommendations to correct or improve quality issues as they arise
  • Makes sure that non-conforming rejected parts are segregated in the correct areas, clearly marked in the top layer of the box, and mated back with jobs at the point of shipping to make sure orders are completed
  • Produces scheduled work efficiently, adapts to changing demands (can do attitude)
  • Resolves conflict, admits to mistakes, displays commitment to teamwork, flexible, open to new ideas, and holds self-accountable and works to resolve issues so they don't reoccur
  • Inspects to standards, but uses good judgment in making decisions on acceptable part quality
  • Leads by example with great attendance and holds crew accountable to do the same
  • Knows production goals and consistently meets them
  • Trains new employees (pair with someone who can teach and verify the tasks). Follow up to make sure training is correct and on task with expectations
  • Maintains a good working relationship and communication path to Planner, and works with Planner to ensure that staffing resources are in the right place to achieve goals
  • Learn stripping process and cleaning parts for production
  • Load burnoff each morning, remove and pressure wash after
  • Learn and understand chemical, read Chemical Management Procedure

QUALIFICATIONS (experience, skills, education, credentials):

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Able to learn and perform computer data entry
  • Must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities required by position
  • English reading ability
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Good memory skills
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 25# throughout the day.
  • Self-motivated and able to maintain a fast pace
  • Must have ability to learn effective and safe use of material handling equipment.

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with occasional Saturday overtime

Wage: $20.00/hour to start
