Our Talent Development team is hiring a Specialist to help plan and deliver high visibility employee engagement initiatives that have a positive impact on the larger Appian community. The Talent Development Specialist will also oversee our K-12 education outreach program, AppianThrive, engaging employees as volunteers, advisors and supporters to enhance the value of the program. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-looking thinker with excellent organizational and communication skills who is also interested in working with students and varying levels of stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you need:
- The ability to work collaboratively with the senior manager to develop and implement ideas and events that align with our talent development team's mission and goals.
- The ability to create and deliver engaging content, including presentations and workshops for assigned programs and initiatives.
- The ability to track and maintain status reporting of assigned initiatives on a periodic basis, and report out on program progress at regular intervals via surveys or other data collection methods.
- Knowledge of appropriate and relevant project management tools to coordinate new and existing projects or events. This could include pulling together topics, agenda(s) and presentations to support people engagement programs (e.g. AppianThrive projects, company week activities, affinity group programs, etc.).
- The ability to coordinate and collaborate with other stakeholders and teams to bridge information gaps, share lessons learned and best practices, and ensure overall organizational cross-functional communication.
- A solutions-oriented mindset and ability to positively interact with all levels of team members and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organization, communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of at least one of the following: Secondary or Postsecondary school systems, STEM education topics, or Early Career Development Learning or Frameworks
- Ability to travel 20% within the DMV region (approximately once per week)
- Not required but a plus: bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
- Not required but a plus: interest and working knowledge of CSR practices including community affairs and volunteerism
