MHI is looking for an Industry Group Coordinator to act as the liaison between our trade organization and our Industry Group members.

MHI's Industry Groups bring together the leading solution providers of material handling, supply chain, and logistics technology and equipment to work collaboratively on shared business goals. The Industry Groups focus on defined solution categories within the industry yet maintain a unique setting where competitors work together. These Industry Groups work on industry standards, education, and promotion, as well as other initiatives and networking.

The industry group coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of industry group communication and member service, from administrative support to acting as the first point of contact for members, including organizing meetings, events, and activities for the groups. Duties also include maintaining records, tracking membership metrics, and coordinating with the finance department regarding the payment of membership fees.

A successful industry group coordinator is a highly organized, results and deadline-driven self-starter who excels in client service and attention to detail and is an outstanding communicator with a talent for building strong relationships between members and MHI.

Your role:

  • Provide fast-paced administrative and membership support for Industry Groups by planning, coordinating, and facilitating meetings, events, and other initiatives.
  • Assist with all Industry Group member communication aspects, including handling customer service questions, information requests, database updates, and membership inquiries.
  • Produce clear and accurate meeting notes, minutes, and action items for multiple monthly group meetings.
  • Manage all post-meeting action items, monitor the action plans, identify responsible parties, and conduct necessary follow-up.
  • Maintain and update membership records, database, and related administrative duties to support operational and financial functions.
  • Collect data, track membership statistics, and prepare reports.
  • Provide administrative support with group agendas, events, and project planning in collaboration with the Industry Group leaders and managing executives.
  • Act as the liaison between the Industry Group and other MHI Internal Teams, including Marketing, Exhibitions, Membership, Knowledge, Events, and Finance.
  • Promote a productive and collaborative working relationship with the Industry Group's managing executive team.
  • Provide administrative support for and participate in the Industry Group's strategic development process.
  • Support MHI virtual and in-person meetings and events.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are essential. The ability to quickly capture and communicate key industry-specific concepts and technical information is also a must.
  • Self-starter with proven business acumen and the ability to think creatively.
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated meeting planning and facilitation skills, including familiarity with virtual conferencing and meeting software programs.
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal, and consensus-building skills
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Salesforce, SmartSheet, and additional project coordination/task tracking programs a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service and high-quality, results-driven interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. High school diploma/GED required.
  • Two to five years of business experience is preferred. Previous experience in member management, project coordination, administrative support, and/or volunteer engagement is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10 -15 % domestically required.
  • Work successfully in a hybrid work environment in the South Charlotte, NC, area.
