care while effectively managing operations. You will have 24/7 responsibility for your departments,
ensuring high standards of care and operational excellence.Location: Salem, VA
Compensation: Min: $110,552 | Mid: $143,707 | Bonus: 15% | Sign-on & Relocation: Negotiable
Schedule: Full-Time, No Weekends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required;
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice.
  • Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
  • Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve real or potential problems affecting the service, ensuring follow-through and effective communication.
  • Participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees, providing ongoing updates and communication.
  • Enhance the customer experience within Surgical Services.
  • Coach subordinates through feedback, constructive critique, and development plans.
  • Adhere to Human Resource policies and communicate relevant departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff.
  • Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices and build strong relationships to achieve organizational goals.
  • Enforce standards of care for surgical services and develop processes to ensure consistent compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing surgical services program to ensure quality patient care aligned with the hospital's mission.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies regarding patient services, environmental, and personnel safety.
  • Oversee a Performance Improvement (PI) program that evaluates critical aspects of care.
  • Manage the fiscal operations of the department, ensuring proper utilization of financial resources.
  • Advance the growth agenda for Surgical Services, aiming to be the OR of Choice for physicians, patients, staff, and payers in the community.

Additional Information:

  • 506-bed hospital with 14 general surgery ORs, 2 ORs for C-sections, and 2 for CVOR.
  • Level II Trauma Center with roughly 35-40 cases a day.
  • 110 FTEs.
  • Position reports to the hospital CNO.
