Job Title: Maintenance Apprentice
Purpose of JobThe Maintenance Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Technician with maintenance functions throughout the full campus. The Maintenance Apprentice will be is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Technician ensuring that all equipment and structures within the campus remains in proper working order to include preventative maintenance and repair maintenance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities.- Assist in performing routine preventative maintenance as directed by Maintenance Technician.
- Assist in performing repairs to equipment and structures as directed by Lead Maintenance Technician.
- Proactively seek out equipment improvements.
- Learn and maintain safety standards related to a manufacturing environment.
- Assist in performing vehicle maintenance and inspections.
- Assist in steam boiler pipe maintenance and inspections.
- Under the direction and supervision of Maintenance Tech, use air compressor for cleaning lines, regulators, pneumatic controls, etc.
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance on the grain systems.
- Assist in performing water tests.
- Under the direction and supervision of Maintenance Tech, use pumps and augers to resolve maintenance or repair issues.
- Manage time to be proactive to prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to problem solve and possess good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, and basic PLC experience.
- Understanding of basic tooling.
- Basic understanding in any of the following maintenance disciplines: welding, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, controls, boilers, and steam.
- Understanding of hand tools, pumps, PLC controls, electrical panels; steel, copper and iron plumbing.
- Basic computer understanding in preventative maintenance program.
- Must have the ability to collect and analyze information and follow direction.
- Must have the ability to work in a strong team-based environment.
- Must have strong time management skills.
- Must be able to direct one's own work in the event of emergent situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
