The job duties of a social media marketing person vary depending on the size and type of company they work for, but they generally include:

  • Creating and managing social media content: This includes writing blog posts, creating infographics, designing social media graphics, and shooting and editing videos.
  • Promoting social media content: This includes scheduling posts, running social media ads, and engaging with followers.
  • Monitoring social media analytics: This includes tracking website traffic, social media engagement, and social media ROI.
  • Reporting on social media results: This includes presenting social media data to stakeholders and making recommendations for future campaigns.

In addition to these core duties, social media marketing people may also be responsible for:

 

  • Responding to customer inquiries: This can be done through social media channels, email, or phone.
  • Managing social media crises: This involves responding to negative comments, complaints, or rumors about the company.
  • Working with other departments: This includes working with marketing, sales, and customer service to ensure that the company's social media presence is consistent with its overall brand and message.



Minimum qualifications for a social media marketing person:
