About This Opportunity

The Criminal Justice Program at Daemen University is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor for an introductory course in Criminology. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching CRJ 100 Introduction to Criminology, with oversight by the co-directors of the Criminal Justice program to ensure compliance with departmental, curricular, and institutional requirements. This course will provide a general introduction to the study of crime and criminality. The main focus will be to introduce the major criminological theories and how these theories of crime participation are related to the policies and operation of the criminal justice system. Crime measurement, patterns and trends in crime, and crime types are also topics to be covered. This course will be offered in person on Daemen's Amherst campus Thursday evenings from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.


Required Qualifications:

MA in Criminal Justice or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous teaching experience in higher education
