Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The role of the Environmental Technician at American Gilsonite Company (AGC) is to provide critical support to the engineering team by assisting with various tasks related to environmental monitoring, sustainability efforts, and laboratory analysis. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Water Sample Collection:

• • Collect water samples from various sites for quality analysis and environmental monitoring.
  • Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of all samples.
  • Maintain and regulate the Water Outfall location filters and sulfuric acid supply to insure water that is discharge meets water quality standards.
  • Ensure water samples are shipped and received within compliance holding times

Environmental Sustainability Efforts:

• Conduct Storm water inspections and maintenance as required by the NPDES permit.
• Conduct SPCC inspections and maintenance as required for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the environmental team to identify and address potential environmental impacts.
• Participate in fieldwork and data collection for environmental assessments.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) Lab Assistance:

• Support the QAQC laboratory in testing and analyzing materials.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and proper functioning.
• Record and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
