Role Overview:
The Capability Enablers/Requirement Services Specialist plays a critical role in identifying, developing, and managing the capabilities required by NATO to meet its strategic objectives. This position involves working closely with various stakeholders across NATO, industry, and academia to ensure that NATO's capability requirements are met effectively and efficiently, supporting the Alliance's collective defense efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Capability Requirement Development: Lead the identification and development of capability requirements that align with NATO’s strategic objectives. This involves translating operational needs into technical requirements and working closely with Allied Command Operations to ensure these needs are met.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including NATO member nations, industry partners, and academic institutions, to gather insights and develop solutions that address capability gaps. Facilitate the sharing of best practices and innovative ideas through workshops, conferences, and other forums.
  • Program Management: Oversee the lifecycle management of capability development programs, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance expectations. This includes managing risks, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with NATO’s standards and guidelines.
  • Innovation and Integration: Support the integration of emerging and disruptive technologies into NATO’s capability development process. This includes working on initiatives such as NATO’s Next Generation Modelling and Simulation (NexGen M&S) capabilities and leveraging digital twins, AI, and other advanced technologies.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular reports on the status of capability development projects, including key milestones, risks, and opportunities. Ensure that all documentation is maintained according to NATO’s standards and is readily accessible for future reference.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, project management, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in capability development, requirements management, or a related field. Experience working within NATO or a similar international defense organization is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools, data analysis, and familiarity with NATO’s capability development processes and standards.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Clearance: A current SECRET security clearance is required
