Job DescriptionJob Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of this position is to research/create manufacturing work orders, establish customer lead times, and plan machine/people capacity to ensure on-time delivery to the customer. This position will also assist with the proper requisitioning of purchased product/services and help maintain accurate inventory levels. The Inventory Planning Coordinator works closely with various departments, including production, logistics, inventory control and procurement, to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Translate sales orders into projected manufacturing orders via MRP System, validating and/or correcting promise dates.
  • Plan production capacity and issue orders to the shop for execution.
  • Investigate and partner with inventory control to correct any inventory problems, validating safety stock and/or production levels.
  • Maintain daily reviews of MRP recommendations and take action to validate or dismiss.
  • Coordinate materials and components with purchasing to ensure in stock and maintain on time delivery.
  • Performs daily computer record maintenance, P&IC, and shop activity, resolving all issues.
  • Alert procurement, buyer, or inventory analyst of potential delays in commodity & MRP materials
  • Follow safety policies and procedures for different locations.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:


Education:

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical experience preferred

Experience:

  • 1-3 years production planning, inventory and purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of P&IC, MRP, manufacturing and procurement

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of MRP systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
