Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and execution of the organization's data governance strategy, including policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
  • Establish and maintain a data governance framework that aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and assess data quality metrics, identify data issues, and implement corrective actions to improve data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant legislation.
  • Direct and manage data governance projects and initiatives, providing guidance and support to teams across the organization.
  • Work closely with data stewards, IT, business units, and executive leadership to align data governance practices with business needs and objectives.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to data governance, including data dictionaries, data glossaries, and metadata management.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on data governance policies and practices to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits of data processes and systems to ensure adherence to data governance policies and standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in data governance and data management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in data governance, data management, or a related role, with proven leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and data privacy regulations.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools and software, such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing projects, with the ability to lead data governance initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Certification in data governance or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus.
