Position Description
Reporting into the General Counsel, the Counsel will support the Federation in managing general corporate, commercial and other legal affairs of the United States Soccer Federation, Inc.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supporting US Soccer’s efforts in the development, construction and operations of its National Training Facility and ancillary projects, including drafting and negotiating all real estate, commercial lease, commercial services, and venue licensing agreements.
- Drafting and negotiating agreements pertaining to US Soccer fundraising campaigns.
- Representing U.S. Soccer in its material commercial contract negotiations, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating, event agreements, sponsorships, licenses, media, marketing, agency, vendor and hotel contracts , and the like.
- Supporting the business units in legal matters in support of all aspects of competition including WC’26 and WWC ‘31.
- Supporting General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer on a variety of legal matters including litigation support, governance, membership, data privacy, intellectual property, employee relations and compliance
- Guiding, counseling, and supporting the work of junior colleagues (e.g., paralegals and interns).
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Minimum seven years’ experience working as an attorney; preferably with some private firm experience
- Proficiency in commercial contract negotiation required.

- Ability to work independently, while coordinating and communicating with other members of the legal/compliance team throughout the process

- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Suite as it relates to legal documents (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
