Manager, Claims Administration

As the Manager of Claims Administration, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Homesteaders Life Claims Care Team and ensuring efficient, accurate, affair settlement of Life insurance claims while delivering excellent customer service. Your role will include maintaining compliance with industry regulations, implementing process improvement, and providing exceptional service to all we work and interact with daily.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of claims representatives to achieve team goals aligned with Company goals.
- Establish and achieve key department performance indicators. Identify, create, and implement policies and procedures necessary to achieve team goals and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Analyze data to identify patterns or inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Make final determinations on settlements for complex and/or escalated claims.
- Evaluate data to identify trends and implement change based on escalated claims inquiries or disputes from funeral homes, beneficiaries, or claimants.
- Serve as SME for the claims department to provide input and analysis of development, testing, and implementation of new products, tools, and system modifications.
- Identify potential risks for fraudulent claims and take appropriate action.
- Prepare reports and provide analysis to business units.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred with an emphasis on business or 3 – 4 years of equivalent work experience.
- Two+ year management experience, and three+ years life insurance customer service experience. Life insurance claims experience preferred.
- FLMI designation is preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated proficiency at an advanced level in Microsoft Office products: Excel and Word
- Experience with LifePro office administration system preferred.
