This candidate will be overseeing version control systems, managing configuration items, and coordinating change management processes. With a focus on quality assurance and documentation, this candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of software configurations throughout the development lifecycle.


Key Performing Attributes:

  • Ensure that software development projects are well-organized, efficiently managed, and that software artifacts are properly controlled throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Manage and maintain version control systems (e.g., Git) to track changes in the source code, documentation, and other software artifacts. This involves branching, merging, and resolving code conflicts.
  • Create, configure, and maintain build scripts and automation tools to compile, build, and package software components for deployment. Ensure that the release process is smooth and error-free.
  • Define and maintain software configurations, including libraries, dependencies, and environment settings. Ensure consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Implement and enforce change control processes to track and manage changes to software artifacts. This includes assessing the impact of changes and coordinating approvals; to include Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Set up and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes. Ensure that code changes are tested thoroughly before being deployed to production.
Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage external dependencies and libraries used in the software. Keep them up to date and resolving any compatibility or security issues.
  • Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to plan and execute software releases. Ensure that releases are well-coordinated and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure that software configurations are in compliance with quality standards, industry best practices, and company policies. This may involve conducting audits and reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to configuration, build, and release processes. This includes investigating build failures and deployment problems.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure that software configurations meet security requirements. Ensure compliance with DoD and industry regulations and standards.
  • Provide training and support to development teams on configuration management tools and processes. The contractor shall help team members understand and follow best practices.
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate tools and technologies to streamline configuration management tasks. Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency.

Requirements:

  • United States citizenship required
  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance or current Top Secret SSBI with TS/SCI eligibility required; may require CI polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related scientific discipline required (master’s degree desired)
  • 5+ years of experience

A successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a distributed multi-disciplinary team environment on government customer site and work independently as needed. A successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional people skills, professionalism, organization, and leadership skills. This position requires interaction with government customers at all levels of authority and technical acuity, and therefore a successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate technical and programmatic information through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
