Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Software Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Software Configuration team, you will be responsible for developing, enforcing, and maintaining Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes on large- and small-scale programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
  • Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.
  • Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database, or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.
  • Design and implement build procedures that are used to support software product development and use.
  • Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
  • Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
  • Apply sound software engineering principles, metrics, and ensure compliance with all published processes and standards in our technical solutions.
  • Ensure deliverables meet technical quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field with 5 years' experience, OR master's Degree with 6 years' experience.
  • Must have experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery.
  • Understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices, and standards is required.
  • Must have knowledge of scripting languages.
  • Experience with multiple tools and environments (Git, Bitbucket, Jira, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Linux, and Windows).
  • Experience with static code analysis and code coverage.
  • Experience with one or more Software languages/technologies: C/C, Java, Python, C#.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with implementing SCM on a large-scale program.
  • Experience with configuration and administration of DevOps tools, CI/CD concepts, and automated build pipelines.
  • Experience in development and maintenance of Jenkins Pipelines & scripts.

Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
