We currently have a role available for Benchling Software Integration Consultant in a pharmaceutical research setting.

 

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborating closely with scientists to outline and enable current research.
  • Developing and supporting custom workflows to ensure efficient data management and traceability.
  • Designing, developing and supporting software product (Benchling).
  • Collaborating with R&D scientists and other core functions to support and enhancing current research needs and workflows.
  • Effectively implementing Benchling applications as well as providing ongoing training and support to laboratory staff.
  • Generating all the proper documentation and following change control best practices.
  • Working within broader software development efforts, while utilizing proper software repositories.
  • Ensuring cohesive implementation and data integrity across laboratory automation platform.
  • Serving as Subject Matter Expert on the Benchling product and data model to support active users.
  • Generating and curating relevant training materials as needed.
  • Integrating Benchling with other scientific software systems.

 

Job requirements include, but are not limited to: 

  • BS – Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with 3+ years of industry experience (preferably pharma), specifically with software implementation and programming (Benchling, SQL, etc.).
  • Basic/cursory understanding of molecular biology, cell line generation, protein sciences, antibody production, large molecule drug discovery, next-generation sequencing (NGS) or other relevant science workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – as well as willingness and ability to be the liaison between scientists and programmers.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 10%.
  • Strong time management skills and flexibility to handle urgent projects within given timelines.
  • Very strong attention to detail and safety as well as problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstration of excellent team player skills and ability to work across functions.
  • The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the leadership and communication skills necessary to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with flexibility and an adaptable approach to goal delivery.
