We are seeking a skilled EpicCare Radiant to join our team. The EpicCare Radiant is a healthcare information system (HIS) developed by Epic Systems Corporation specifically for radiology departments and imaging centers. It is a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) solution that allows healthcare providers to manage patient data, imaging results, and workflows more efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- EpicCare Radiant facilitates the registration of patients for radiology exams, capturing their demographic information, insurance details, and relevant medical history. It also enables the scheduling of appointments, ensuring proper coordination of resources and availability of equipment.
- The system manages the electronic ordering of radiology exams by physicians or other healthcare providers. It ensures that orders are accurately captured, linked to the appropriate patients, and transmitted to the radiology department for scheduling and execution.
- EpicCare Radiant supports the workflow management within the radiology department. It tracks the progress of exams from scheduling to image acquisition and interpretation, ensuring that each step is properly documented and completed in a timely manner. The system helps optimize resource allocation, prioritize urgent cases, and manage worklists efficiently.
- The system integrates with various imaging modalities, such as X-ray, MRI, CT scan, etc., and facilitates the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of radiology images. EpicCare Radiant ensures that images are properly associated with patient records, allowing radiologists and other authorized users to access and review them when needed.
- EpicCare Radiant provides tools for radiologists to interpret images, generate diagnostic reports, and communicate the findings to referring physicians. It supports customizable report templates, voice recognition for dictation, and automated distribution of reports to the appropriate recipients, ensuring timely communication of results.
- The system integrates with billing systems to facilitate accurate and efficient billing processes for radiology services. It captures the necessary documentation, such as procedure codes and patient information, to generate billing claims and support revenue cycle management
- EpicCare Radiant is responsible for seamless integration and interoperability with other hospital systems, such as electronic health records (EHRs), laboratory systems, and enterprise-wide systems. It ensures the exchange of relevant patient information, results, and orders between systems, promoting continuity of care and data integrity.
- EpicCare Radiant includes support services and training resources for users, including radiologists, technologists, and administrative staff. It helps troubleshoot system issues, provides ongoing assistance, and offers training programs to ensure users can effectively utilize the system's features.
- Bachelor’s degree with a healthcare designation (i.e. RN, RRT, RHIT, LVN, etc.) strongly preferred or 4 years of clinical experience in lieu of degree.
- Certification/Certificate in informatics – OR – Previous clinical application experience preferred
- Extensive MS Office Skills required
- Strong management and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Three years clinical experience, previous clinical applications experience or certification in informatics
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office products and knowledge of current Health Information System (HIS) platform, recommended
- Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, data management and administration
- Clinical practice experience and clinical documentation knowledge
- Knowledge of hospital practices and procedures as well as laws, regulation, and guidelines pertaining to practice standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong verbal, written skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as a member of a team
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current valid Professional license if applicable
- Registrations, certifications and/or licensures commensurate with modules assigned (i.e. RN, RPh, CPhT, MT, etc.)
