The Produce Manager is responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising and management of the
Produce department. As a manager, the Produce Manager is also responsible for the smooth operation of the store,
ensuring employee accountability, and up/down communication with the Store Manager.
This position reports directly to the Store Manager with oversight from the Produce Category Manager. This is a fulltime position, not to exceed 40 hours each week.
Requirements
o Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
o 1+ years' experience in retail management.
o 2+ years' experience in customer service

o Must actively mentor staff, providing support and feedback based upon performance.

o Support your team, your fellow managers, and the Store Manager by being a leader in your store.
o Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Produce Department Manager

Job Description

Responsibilities

o Order and receive for the Produce department.
o Prepare and maintain the Salad Bar.
o Manage a team as they stock Produce deliveries in a timely manner.
o Understand and maintain Organic certification compliance.
o Drive sales through well-merchandised displays and increase the profitability of the Produce department.
o Ensure backstock is worked consistently and accurately.
o Manage top and bottom sellers to ensure product sets stay profitable.
o Ensure department stays profitable through the use of department ledgers as a means of maintaining
costs.
o Utilize feedback provided by Management and Category Manager to make changes to the department to
drive sales.
o Manage a team of cashiers and stockers as they complete tasks for the Produce department and the store
in general. Provide training on completing tasks to staff as well as following up to ensure compliance.
o Ensure the Produce department inventory is being managed and maintained through monthly inventories
and order guides.
o Regularly complete cleaning on the Produce department to ensure shelves and displays are clean and
inviting at all times.
o Ensure staff are working in a safe and productive manner at all times.
o Regularly cull the Produce department to ensure products are always fresh and inviting.
o Attend monthly Produce department meetings as well as monthly meetings with the Store Manager.
o Complete audits on the Produce department to ensure operational compliance and efficiency.
This list of job responsibilities is considered a general outline of the position. This position is expected to do
whatever it takes to get the job done to ensure the successful operation of the store and of Rainbow Blossom.
This position will be required to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50 pounds occasionally. This position will often
be both indoors, outdoors, and in a climate-controlled cooler. This position will be exposed to environments
consisting of hot and cold temperatures as well as potential exposure to wind and precipitation. This position will be
rarely expected to work in a freezer. This position will be expected to stand and walk often, to sit and squat or kneel
occasionally, and to climb rarely.
