Job DescriptionJob Description

Champaign County Humane Society has an open full-time position on the Adoption staff. Adoption staff members greet the public and assist our patrons in finding their next animal companion. Qualified candidates will be friendly, outgoing, and organized, and must have knowledge and/or experience related to pet ownership. Candidates also should be adept at using a computer and performing accurate data entry.

In addition to facilitating the adoption process, Adoption Staff members may be required to perform "animal care" duties, such as kennel/cage cleaning, dog walking, and general shelter cleaning. This is a physically demanding position and involves some exposure to loud noise and strong chemicals/cleaning products. Experience handling animals is required.

Hours will include weekends and some holidays. Benefits of full-time employment include eligibility for the CCHS employee health insurance plan, paid vacation, paid holidays, and a Simple IRA plan.

Starting pay is $15.00/hr.
