Schedule:

Standard operating hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday-Friday. Specific work hours will be established through discussions with your supervisor.

Hourly Wage:

$14.25 /hr. to start - $15.25 after 90 days

Job Summary:

At LIFE-NWPA, our Receptionist play a crucial role in greeting visitors, residents, and staff upon entrance. Responsibilities also include answering phones and directing calls to the appropriate department. Provide direction and assistance to Participants and visitors when necessary. Assist department heads with general office tasks including, but not limited to: filing, copying, paperwork, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephone and direct calls to the appropriate department.

  • Complete any filing, copying, or other duties as requested by Center Manager or department heads.

  • Greet all staff, Participants, and visitors and provide assistance.

  • Ensure that all visitors and vendors sign in and out of the registry.

  • Receive and sort all incoming mail and newspapers for staff.

  • Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the lobby and front entrance.

  • Assist Emergency Medical Services (Ambulance) with doors and/or elevator by calling the elevator to the ground floor and securing it.

  • Assist with Participant tracking as needed.

  • Maintain an aggressive scanning schedule to reduce a backlog of paperwork.

  • Participate in and support Quality Improvement initiatives.

  • Other duties as requested/assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • General clerical experience in proper office procedures.

  • Must have access to reliable and consistent transportation.

  • Must be able to deal tactfully and patiently with personnel, participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.

  • Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors.

  • Ability to organize work and follow through on assigned tasks.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

  • Must have the cognitive ability to process and perform tasks for Participant safety.

  • CPR and First Aid Certification.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • 1 to 3 years of administrative support experience.

  • One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in extensive training as needed.

  • Capable of and experienced in assisting individuals with special mobility needs.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Successful completion of post-offer employment drug screening and physical (at employer’s expense). CPR and First Aid Certification, or willing to obtain at employer’s expense. Individuals must have one year of prior experience caring for the frail elderly or willing to complete Company paid training to meet this requirement.


This position has full access to Participant, program, and staff records and reports, requiring discretion to protect individuals and the program.
