Position Overview:

The Account Executive is responsible for creating and maintaining solid, long-term business relationships with electrical contractors and other construction stakeholders such as General Contractors, Construction Managers, Architects, Engineers, Technology Consultants, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction. The role involves continuously growing sales through assigned accounts and a designated territory. The Account Executive will maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's Customer Lifecycle Management Sales and Marketing strategy and the Managed Systems Solution Partnership strategy, providing leadership to ensure consistent execution among team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Routinely meet with assigned team to ensure all members are informed of expected deliverables.
  • Regularly make sales calls to assigned accounts to expand existing relationships and identify future needs.
  • Lead education sessions with Technology Directors to inform assigned accounts about Tech's products and services.
  • Utilize a conservative sales approach to sell products and services, offer add-on and up-sell products, and suggest alternatives when necessary.
  • Cultivate and maintain solid, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Assist and resolve customer requests and problems promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure effective communication and peer relationships among Tech Electronics Account team members and assigned account personnel.
  • Report competitive conditions, observed customer financial weaknesses, and customer feedback to management.
  • Cooperate with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales calls.
  • Attend and host sales, product, and other company meetings as needed.
  • Identify buying centers and key influencers within accounts; build relationships to ensure Tech is the preferred Technology Services Partner.
  • Learn account buying behavior and needs, matching Tech's systems and services to those needs.
  • Identify potential short and long-term buying cycles of assigned accounts.
  • Identify budgets and decision makers within each buying center.
  • Facilitate and assist in coordinating seminars and presentations on Tech's systems.
  • Ensure assigned account data and corresponding sales activity is current within company databases.

Position Requirements:

  • Five years of construction/electrical sales experience preferred.
  • Background in voice, data, alarm, and/or video is highly preferred.
  • Ability to design and estimate fire alarm systems is considered a plus.
