We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to oversee scheduling and field operations, ensuring the timely and profitable completion of our projects while adhering to quality and safety benchmarks. The ideal candidate will provide robust support to construction foremen and their field crews, showcasing strong leadership, communication, and technical skills. The role may occasionally require night work, but all projects are local, eliminating the need for out-of-town travel.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Lead multiple projects to maintain a clean and safe worksite, exceeding project requirements, quality control standards, and productivity.
  • Field Operations Management: Oversee and manage daily field activities, ensuring smooth progress from project prep to close-out.
  • Supervision: Direct on-site supervision of multiple projects, monitoring and managing subcontractor progress.
  • Goal Setting: Establish clear and attainable goals for each project, holding team members accountable through inspiration, mentoring, training, and open communication.
  • Business Development: Assist Project Managers and Estimators in business development by analyzing field-specific opportunities and managing client relationships.
  • Relationship Building: Promote and support strong internal and external relationships across all divisions and departments.


Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in municipal and IDOT projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, MS Project).
  • Licensing: IL Driver's License with no restrictions and OSHA 30 certification.
  • Financial Literacy: Basic financial literacy and construction math skills to estimate job quantities.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with equipment used in all phases of heavy highway projects.
  • Digital Proficiency: Skilled in the use of smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with conflict management skills.
  • Ethical Leadership: Ethical decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to Values Based Leadership.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in an environment with constant change, maintaining a high level of integrity.
