Clinical Exercise Physiologist

JOB SUMMARY: Leads the activities of the Pulmonary Rehab Program (and Cardiac Rehab Program as needed) and implements and conducts activities for same as a clinician. Additionally, serves as a resource for University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health and our community Provides care to adult and geriatric populations.

 

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in exercise physiology/exercise science or related field. ACLS certification required. ACSM Exercise Specialist preferred.

  1. Handle multiple priorities.

  3. Establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  4. Manage time effectively. 
  5. Maintain confidentiality.
  6. Access, review and integrate information from a variety of sources to develop a treatment plan.
  7. Break down tasks into fairly detailed components in order to analyze the sequence of performance of functional activities.
  8. Adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the organization.
  9. Interpret evaluation findings to participant, family, and treatment team.
  10. Effectively use various pieces of medical and therapeutic equipment.
  11. Educating groups and individuals.
  12. Effectively functioning as a member of a collaborative team.
  13. Establishing and maintaining rapport with participants as a part of the    therapeutic team of health care providers.
  14. Critical thinking skills and ability to effectively prioritize.


Additional Information

One year of related experience required. Experience with multi-disease populations required. Experience conducting independent cardiopulmonary exercise testing preferred.
