This position is responsible for surveying the pool and conducting rescues to help weak or injured swimmers get to safety. Their duties include speaking with swimmers to enforce swimming rules keeping track of each swimmer in the water and administering first aid to injured swimmers.

• Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
• Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving
• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
• Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner
• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool area.
• Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available
• Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout the shift
• Directs swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions.
• Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe.
• Maintain a clear pool environment.

• Minimum age of 16
• Certifications: Lifeguard Certification, CPR and Basic First Aid.
• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.

Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard | Hear noises and distress signals in an aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility | Endurance to perform continuous active surveillance for extended periods, including standing or sitting for long durations | See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility | Proficiency in treading water for at least 5 minutes without the use of hands | Able to safely lift, pull and push up to 40 pounds, such as rescue equipment or unconscious individuals, to safety | Agility to swiftly maneuver in and out of the water to respond to emergencies | Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions |Tolerance for exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals.
