The Technical Writer position earns a competitive salary at $35.00 - $37.00/hour, depending on experience. This is a non-exempt position. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TECHNICAL WRITER:

Works with our technology departments, agile teams, and end users to develop and implement supporting documentation for newly developed and modified software systems

Works with peers to establish and maintain a consistent methodology and resolve questions during planning and iterations

Works with Agile teams to ensure their definitions of done for documentation are adhered to

Supervises and maintains the contents of the IS Knowledge Base and engineering department shared spaces

Creates, reviews, and updates technical documentation, training materials, and other documentation requested by system users

Assist in developing practices and procedures with demonstrated understanding of programming concepts, operating systems, and/or networking

Maintains IS Documentation Kanban board in Azure Dev Ops

Collaborates with IS development, operations, and system analysis during design phases to gain an understanding of the designed products

Analyzes requirements of new and redesigned projects to determine types of publications needed. Documents, catalogs and maintains related publications

May assist in the development and delivery of user training

Supports other departments' needs by assisting with the creation, proofreading, and updating of procedural documentation

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS FOR THIS ROLE:

As the Technical Writer, you will have an Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field plus at least two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Word and Excel

Must be able to use the English language fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A TECHNICAL WRITER:

The typical remote work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
