Responsibilities:

The Project Estimator performs a variety of administrative and analytical tasks, including:
  • Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
  • Determining factors that influence the cost of a service or product.
  • Preparing material and cost estimates for the product or service.
  • Creating labor estimates for any project.
  • Assisting with solution design and contingency plans as needed
  • Working with purchasing and subject matter experts to create detailed cost analysis.
  • Presenting prepared estimates to sales and customers, if needed.
  • The Project Estimator models appropriate behavior in alignment with Optus’ Core Values and supports Optus’ team approach to Quality.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school degree or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of project or estimating experience.
  • Field experience with installing IT infrastructure and cabling (Copper and fiber) Preferred
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code and General OSHA rules.
  • Previous data entry skills preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Must have a positive attitude and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • This position requires the successful candidate to be able to multi-task, work within externally developed deadlines, and respond promptly and efficiently to change.
