2. Training and Experience: Three years experience in clinical nursing practice. Experience in a variety of clinical specialties desired. Sales/Marketing experience in a medical/healthcare related field preferred.
3. Job Knowledge: Ability to practice nursing as described by the following definition: " The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations.” Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care, including but not limited to administering prescribed treatments, medications, and diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care using the problem list, collaborating with other health care providers, and providing education to patients and/or significant others.

DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for coordination and compliance with regard to associate new hire education as assigned. The associate is expected to demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills that support the organization customer service strategy. Responsible for preparing statistical reports, review of policies and procedures. Assists the EDCS in the development and evaluation of nursing staff and departmental associates. Prepares and maintains staffing schedules for the nursing department and is responsible for the day to day nursing staffing and adjustments of the hospital. Acts as a nursing liaison with attending physicians. This individual may be required to work some day, weekend, or evening shifts as required by the staffing needs and as assigned by the EDCS. Monitors daily care provided to patients and is responsible for follow-up to ensure the needs of the patients are met. Acts as an active participant in budget development, selection of nursing staff, and coaching and counseling of associates. Actively supports organizational objectives. Facilitates implementation of service management philosophy. Represents nursing in interdisciplinary hospital committees. Collects, records, and analyzes data through quality improvement process and implements indicated changes. Represents associate interests to administration and communicates knowledge of strategic planning, organizational innovation and feedback related to hospital performance to departmental staff.
Responsible for the coordination of daily activities related to intake assessment and referral of individuals seeking long term acute care services. Provides telephone screenings and initial clinical assessments and then communicates findings of initial assessment to Medical Director. Secures approval for admission from Medical Director and/or makes referral sources and collects statistical data for departmental outcome studies.
Responsible for effectively educating physicians, hospitals, healthcare providers, patients, and their families of the benefit of our long term acute care services, as well as helping to brand the name and image of Advanced Care Hospital of White County.
Physical Effort: May require prolonged sitting, walking, PC use. Require working under fast-paced condition and deadlines. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, to solve problems, and to make decisions.
Mental Effort: Considerable amount of mental effort and concentration required, primarily in planning and organizing own work and in assisting departmental personnel. A great deal of judgement is needed in coordinating activities within the department and between departments.
Hours are 7-3:30 Monday through Friday; Weekend coverage on the nursing unit may be required during times of high census. At that time your schedule will be adjusted to reflect the change in hours.
