We are seeking dedicated and professional Unarmed Security Guards to provide safety and security services at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (SAVAHCS), located in Tucson, AZ. As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of patients, visitors, and staff by performing a variety of security tasks in a courteous and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
- Conduct surveillance of the grounds, identify potential hazards, and report them.
- Respond to emergencies, assisting with incapacitated patients, and coordinating with VA personnel as necessary.
- Observe and report any suspicious behavior or activities.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a professional and positive image of the VA.
- Accurately log all vehicle and pedestrian traffic using the VA Form 4793 Visitor Register Log.
- Assist in the prevention of unauthorized access and respond to any security breaches.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Must possess a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Unarmed Security Guard license (Level I or II).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to read, understand, and apply printed rules and instructions.
- Ability to remain calm and maintain control in stressful situations.
- Physically fit, capable of performing all general duties and responding to emergencies.
- Must pass a Tier 1 background investigation and maintain a security clearance.

Sunday : 5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m. Number of Guards required : 1
Monday : 5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m. Number of Guards required : 1
Tuesday:5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m Number of Guards required : 1
Wednesday : 5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m Number of Guards required : 1
Thursday : 5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m Number of Guards required : 1
Friday : 5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m Number of Guards required : 1
Saturday :5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m Number of Guards required : 1
Sunday : 5:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m Number of Guards required : 1
- Regular coverage required during specified hours from Sunday through Saturday, including holidays.
- Additional hours may be required based on emergency situations or specific requests.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have binocular vision correctable to 20/30 and be free of color blindness.
- Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 15 feet without a hearing aid.
- Free of any communicable diseases and capable of passing a tuberculosis test.
Uniform Requirements:
- Must wear a professional uniform at all times while on duty. Uniforms will be provided by the contractor and must meet VA standards.
