Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to oversee operations in our countertop fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in countertop fabrication, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of fabricators, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  • Production Management: Oversee the daily operations of the fabrication shop, including scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all countertops are fabricated to the highest quality standards, conducting inspections and implementing quality assurance protocols.
  • Training and Development: Train new employees on fabrication techniques, safety procedures, and company standards. Provide ongoing development and mentorship to team members.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, coordinating with the purchasing department to maintain adequate stock.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition. Schedule and oversee repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise in the fabrication process, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, designers, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution from fabrication to installation.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and maintenance. Prepare and present reports to management as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience in countertop fabrication or a related field.
  • Required: Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick and effective decisions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in fabrication techniques, machinery operation, and maintenance. Knowledge of different countertop materials (e.g., granite, quartz, marble).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in fabrication or a related field is preferred.
