Industrial Maintenance Technician - Decatur, IL - Veteran Wanted
We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Industrial Maintenance Technician for full-time hourly production roles. The ideal applicant should possess at least four years of verifiable experience in the field of maintenance.
Available shifts include:
- the second shift from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM,
- the third shift from Sunday to Thursday, 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
The compensation offered is $32.32 per hour, with additional shift differentials.
Moreover, successful candidates will be eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus, disbursed in two installments: $5,000 after 60 working days and the remaining $5,000 upon completion of one year of service.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Executing tasks related to the installation, repair, dismantlement, and reconstruction of all plant machinery, material handling equipment, vehicles, and facility infrastructures.
- Operating independently with minimal supervision.
- Undertaking the relining of furnaces as required.
- Interpreting and applying information from blueprints, layouts, and diagrams; creating preliminary sketches and blueprints when necessary.
- Utilizing various machine tools and performing necessary repairs.
- Executing tasks involving acetylene or electric welding and cutting as required.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Conducting predictive and preventative maintenance, including lubrication tasks.
- Training and instructing junior staff as needed.
- Employing precision instruments and machinists’ tools; maintaining and sharpening tools.
- Modifying and fabricating machinery and equipment as necessary.
- Managing the containment, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Ordering parts and materials as required.
- Documenting maintenance activities and reporting on predictive and preventive measures.
- Preparing and painting plant machinery, equipment, and facilities as necessary.
- Performing plumbing and boiler repairs.
- Adapting to new methodologies and procedures.
- Assisting other skilled trades as necessary.
- Engaging in further training relevant to job functions.
- Ensuring efficient and high-quality execution of all tasks.
- Operating various equipment and tools related to both production and non-production activities.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must have a minimum of four years of verifiable experience in manufacturing maintenance.
- Availability for second or third shift work, including mandatory overtime, is required.
