Job Description: Clinical Director


Job Duties/Responsibilities:


The Clinical Director is responsible for using sound professional and clinical judgment to ensure quality of care are provided to Clients seeking residential and partial hospitalization. The Clinical Director primarily provides interventions to assigned clients in accordance with the Client’s level of care treatment requirements and oversees treatment provided by the Clinical Team.



  • Oversees the clinical administration and ensure the timeliness of completion as well as compliance with established state and federal standards.
  • Provide Individual therapy based on Client level of care requirements
  • Lead evidence-based groups (TF-CBT, CPT, DBT)
  • Support and assist in crisis intervention or other Client matters when needed
  • Be available as needed for situations that require added support for the center. This includes after business hours and on weekends in urgent/emergency situations
  • Develop, evaluate, and update treatment plans
  • Submit timely and accurate documentation to meet compliance
  • Oversees the treatment intervention for the Center
  • Leads or participates in weekly clinical meetings
  • Update clinical documentation for weekly utilization reviews.
  • Coordinate with treatment and direct care team for effective care of clients
  • Assist with Clinical training/education as needed for staff
  • Works closely with the Director of Operations
  • Maintains current TX licensure and certifications as required by the state.
  • Required to complete evidenced-based trauma trainings (i.e., EMDR, RRT, and ART)
  • Assess personal mental health needs of clients; helps to meet those needs by providing counseling services and referrals
  • Covers caseload and groups for other clinicians who are out of office
  • Complete performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Cover On Call Rotation
  • Maintain timely and accurate file documentation and data entry that meets program requirements
  • Supports and provides supervision for Graduate Interns
  • Meet weekly with therapists for supervision, support, and feedback
  • Meet all deadlines requirements
  • Attends all clinical meetings, in-service trainings, and case consultations if needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Provides support to Clinical Team, Director, and Regional Director of Clinical Services
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies; Innova Recovery Center, The Joint Commission; Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC)

  • Experienced with assessment and treatment of PTSD and issues related to trauma.
  • Possess knowledge of current treatment models and evidence-based interventions for trauma related issues and be comfortable working with a variety of presentations. (PTSD, MDD, DID, personality disorders, somatic disorders)
  • Training/experience in family therapy and group therapy (CPT, TF-CBT, ACT, EMDR or DBT a plus)
  • Comfortable and proficient in using de-escalation/MI/redirection techniques


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a mental health field
  • E.M.D.R. Trained 
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensure and Certifications to provide mental health care in the State of Texas
  • Experience in residential setting
  • Able to pass a background check
