JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Regal Boats is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as a Marine Electrician. Marine Electricians are responsible for the installation and testing of electrical wiring. This person must be able to work in confined spaces. Electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems.
Key Responsibilities

- Install equipment and accessories, such as stereos, navigation, communication, and power management systems, within the boat construction environment.
- Ensure appropriate connections from power-supply circuits to radio, radar, sonar, lighting, and other electronic equipment.
- Inspect and test electrical or electronic systems to locate and diagnose malfunctions using visual inspections and testing instruments.
- Test electrical characteristics such as voltage, resistance, and other circuit metrics using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other test equipment.
- Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment using electric drills and routers.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems with electronic equipment, such as sound, navigation, communication, and security equipment.
- Collaborate with leadership and engineering to improve product design and performance, ensuring all electrical installations meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Manage and complete job duties according to the production schedule, ensuring timely and efficient workflow.
- Follow the company’s safety and quality guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite to avoid hazards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to understand the layout of electrical systems within the boats.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to install heavy electrical harnesses (experience in shipbuilding/similar industry is preferred)
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Must demonstrate a record of dependability and reliability with prior work experience.
- Must have at least two years of experience in electrical work (including tools of the trade), specifically in the marine, RV, or similar industry.
- Must have a working knowledge of 12v systems.
- Experience working with 120v and 240v systems.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing schedules.
- Conversational English skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work in confined spaces and adhere to safety precautions.
- Experience working with Yamaha and Volvo systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various departments.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and complete tasks according to the production schedule.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Work Environment
Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to climb into and out of the boats using stairs. The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10 hour days with most of the time being on your feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
