Ingredient Sourcing Manager

The Ingredient Sourcing Manager will work closely with the R&D department to ensure that all raw material and component sourcing is executed in a manner to support a quick turnaround on customer quotations. Cost savings objectives will be measured continuously and reported on a monthly basis to support business goals and objectives. The position will also drive the validation of additional material/supplier combinations to insure price competitiveness and flexibility of supply. This person will assist the quality department in obtaining regulatory documentation specific to various raw material manufacturing sights and facilitate the establishment of EOQ quantities, safety stock, and lead time validation to support the procurement team at Innovative Labs.
As a Ingredient Sourcing Manager, you will:
- Supports the R&D and purchasing team through the acquisition of raw material samples and pricing in a timely manner.
- Ensures that internal specifications are reviewed against the supplier’s specification on a continuous basis.
- Works closely with the master scheduler to expedite materials in as necessary to support the production schedule.
- Supports the raw material review board gathering information on supplier issues that could impact quality and reporting back to the team.
- Ensures ERP system is maintained specific to the purchasing functions and establishes EOQ quantities.
- Actively communicates any schedule changes to the team as they occur to avoid unplanned manufacturing down time.
- Assists the sales team in new product launches assuring that information flows back to sales in a manner that meets customer. expectations.
- Assist Document Control team in collecting documents from the suppliers as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
- Ingredient sourcing experience required
- Superior computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be detailed oriented
- Experience within the dietary supplement or natural products supply chain industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work under limited supervision with a displayed sense of urgency
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or similar degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience specific to the dietary supplement or natural products industry preferred
- Experience on ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- R&D experience/background
