As the Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement, you will drive development, implementation and sustainment of various operational excellence initiatives as well as facilitate building a CI culture in the company. The position will report directly to the SVP of Operations. We believe that in person collaboration is critical for TopView Group’s continued success, therefore this role will be a full time, on site position at our current office located in Midtown NYC.  Some weekend and holiday availability may be required from time to time.

TopView Group, a well-established sightseeing company with over a decade of successful operations in New York City, is currently experiencing rapid growth on a global scale.  Powered by in-house technology, TopView Group creates one-of-a-kind experiences for everyone around the world. Our rapidly growing portfolio of products provides a variety of popular adventures, including hop-on hop-off bus tours in NYC and London, special events such as Tea Around Town and North Pole Express, sightseeing and event cruises, bike rental and tours, walking tours, and Attraction Pass. We are also planning to expand to Philadelphia, Washington DC, San Francisco, and many other exciting locations.  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives across the company’s product portfolio to simplify processes, eliminate waste, improve cost efficiencies, and improve customer experience
  • Drive assigned improvement initiatives to achieve identified goals in a timely manner
  • Facilitate identification, scope definition and prioritization of improvement initiatives through process audits, data trends & insights, opportunity sizing, resource and cost requirements, and customer impact
  • Lead/ coordinate Kaizens and similar team-based improvement activities
  • Maintain tracking across all projects and communicate on project progress, results and deviations from the project plan with key stakeholders
  • Research new technologies and business practices which have the potential to redefine business processes for the company
  • Follow up and audit processes on a regular basis to ensure results are achieved and sustained
  • Create, refine and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for various processes
  • Partner with various product and process leaders to define relevant KPIs, including input variables, computation and dissemination processes 
  • Develop training materials and train company employees in continuous improvement philosophy and concepts to drive development of a CI culture
  • Serve as subject matter expert for CI methodology, tools and the implementation of daily process controls to drive operational improvements
  • Coordinate best practices sharing across locations and business units
  • Create and maintain tracking dashboard for all completed initiatives
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline (degree in Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • 7+ years of proven track record in successfully defining, deploying, and executing Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence initiatives 
  • Strong working knowledge of LEAN principles, Problem Solving Tools (RCA, DMAIC), and Six Sigma techniques
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and effectively apply lean principles in different settings
  • Strong data gathering and analysis skills, including advanced Excel concepts such as Pivot tables, queries etc. Familiarity with advanced data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or MS Power BI or similar is a plus
  • Experience with automating information workflows and physical processes
  • Familiarity with existing and emerging automation and robotic technologies
  • Proficient in use of productivity suites like Google Workspace, MS Office or equivalent
  • Strong project management skills and familiarity with project management tools like MS Project,  Monday.com, ClickUp, etc.
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with teams at all organizational levels from senior management to non-exempt workforce
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information from engineering drawings, specification, standard operating procedures, etc.
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage workload 
  • Self-starter, motivated by challenge and willing to promote and drive change
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification (preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
