Our Protg Program gives Aspiring Agents an entry point without the need to raise the capital upfront, giving you the most freedom, while rewarding your drive and successes.
The Farmers Protg Program is designed to give aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow their skills & experience the day-to-day excitement of running their own insurance agency, under the guidance of a Farmers Insurance mentor agent.
With the training of a Farmers Insurance mentor agent, Nationally Recognized University of Farmers online training and local district office you will be exposed to all facets of how to operate a successful business.
As a Farmers Future Agency Owner, or Agent Protg, you will have the opportunity to unlimited earning potential based on sales, while being able to learn the insurance business from the inside out.
Once you become a Farmers Agent, you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of being a small business owner, while being fully backed by a national company. If you are interested in becoming an Agency Owner with Farmers Insurance this is the right place for you
Protege Benefits:

Responsibilities
As a Future Agency Owner you will -- Train on how to sell property, casualty, and life insurance products.
- Obtain your Insurance Producer's licenses in Property & Casualty, and Life & Health
- Hit sales quotas
- Complete District 46 comprehensive Protege training program prior to agency launch
- Spend 7 -18 months in the Protg role (time based upon each individual)
- Program will have set sales and growth goals to keep you on track for growth
- Compensated on a base plus commission structure
- Work closely with the Agency Owner to gain an understanding of Agent Ownership role.
- Will be provided leads to help generate sales
- Immersed into the Farmers culture and the insurance industry
- Given the opportunity to work with the Agency owner and the District office to learn the recruiting process
Requirements
- Be comfortable with a sales related career based on commission and obtaining sales related goals
- Must have or be able to quickly obtain Insurance Producer's licenses in Property & Casualty, Life & Health from State of Texas. WE PROVIDE STUDY MATERIAL AND ASSISTANCE FOR THIS.
- Self-confidence, perseverance, the ability to remain positive and maintain progress towards a goal in spite of obstacles and adversity
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and act effectively without direction
- Ability to effectively relate to customers
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience developing and following a prospecting plan
