SUMMARY: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment appropriate for personal skill set and certifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Primary responsibility will be general mechanic duties in food manufacturing facility.
  • Build, fabricate, assemble, install, repair and/or overhaul different types of machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Follow specifications of equipment manufacturers and internal specs.
  • Complete maintenance records as required.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment or facilities.
  • Repair and/or upgrade all facilities of TBI including electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • May supervise other maintenance workers, TBI staff or outside contractors.
  • Perform other work as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A High School Diploma or G.E.D certificate with 2 or more years of progressive and practical experience of maintenance work in a manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Read, write and speak English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to round numbers and calculate averages per prescribed processes. Ability to read and plot data in graph formats. Ability to accurately document quantitative and qualitative results of production testing as per established procedures.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where many times only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
