Hours:

7:35 a.m. - 3:05 p.m. Monday-Friday (following the school calendar); 182 days per school year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive learning environment.
  • Support individual and small group instruction, reinforcing lessons taught by the teacher.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, orderly environment.
  • Assist with lesson preparation of instructional materials.
  • Provide support to students with individualized needs.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional times such as recess, lunch, and field trips.
  • Maintain accurate information as requested by the classroom teacher.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
  • Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Must pass a background check and meet other employment requirements set by the school district.

 

All paraprofessionals must be qualified by Title I guidelines. Qualifications must be one of the following:

  • Two years of credit in higher education (60 hours)
  • An Associates Degree from an institution of higher education
  • Pass a state qualifying exam within the first 30 days of employment at their cost
