Job Summary:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior intervention plans and provide direct behavior-analytic services to individuals in a variety of settings. The RBT is responsible for working directly with clients to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the individualized treatment plan developed by the BCBA.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement behavior intervention plans as designed by the BCBA to address the individualized goals of clients.
2. Collect and record data on client behavior and progress, and share this information with the supervising BCBA.
3. Provide direct 1:1 behavior therapy to clients in various settings, such as home, school, or clinic, as directed by the BCBA.
4. Assist in the development and maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment for clients.
5. Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including parents, teachers, and other professionals, to support clients' needs and progress.
6. Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
7. Maintain professionalism and adhere to the professional and ethical requirements of the behavior analysis field.
8. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, providing updates on client progress and any concerns that may arise.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some positions may require a bachelor's degree or coursework in psychology, education, or related fields.
2. Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
3. Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to implement behavior intervention plans with fidelity and to collect and record data accurately.
6. Must pass a criminal background check.
7. Willingness to adhere to the professional and ethical standards set forth by the BACB.
