Located in North Phoenix - 1929 W Lone Cactus Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85027The Patient Account Rep Assistant provides comprehensive clerical support to Pathology Billing Services, LLC.  To enhance the generation of accurate insurance and patient billing claims and statements, all employees are responsible for supporting the company’s goals and mission, by following all company policies and procedures. 
 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Scan all pertinent information to department’s Scan folder and link to the identified accessions within the billing software.
  2. Maintains updated knowledge of all office operating procedure, memorandum and verbal instruction provided by lead or manager.
  3. Complete requests for clerical support from all department employees.
  4. Maintains the office supply order and stock.
  5. Maintains filing system through organizing the placement of all files.
  6. Maintain destruction of files in accordance with our internal operating policy and procedure.
  7. Supports the AR Department with claim and appeal submission tasks as needed.
  8. Contacts patients and insurance companies when needed to obtain current demographic information.
  9. Assist with pulling medical records to submit for payor requests.
  10. Maintain turnaround times as requested by management to meet timely filing and group and payor contractual obligations.
  11. Checks completed work for accuracy prior to submitting or closing files.
  12. Adheres to all office procedures and guidelines.
 ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assist with answering incoming calls and resolve issue or forward to appropriate person as needed. 
  2. Completing status reports – daily and weekly or as instructed.
  3. Checking eligibility with insurance companies.
  4. All other duties as assigned.
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • One year of prior experience in an office setting. 
  • Knowledge of business software including word processing, spreadsheets and application presentations. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to be utilized in interfacing with all levels of management. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and diverse priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines as required. 
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information. 
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment. 
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment. 
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and sit for long periods of time.
