Summary

Position: Lead Teacher
Location: All Day Learning Centers - Hillsborough, NJ Area
Hours: Monday through Friday

Duties

Responsibilities:
- Implement the high-quality educational curriculum (Creative Curriculum) that aligns with state and local standards and is suitable for the age and
developmental stage of the children.
- Lead the planning and execution of daily activities that foster the children’s cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development.
- Create a stimulating and safe learning environment where children can thrive and explore.
- Monitor and assess the performance of assistant teachers and provide guidance and feedback.
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and caregivers regarding children’s development, behavior, and well-being.
- Conduct parent conferences to discuss the children's progress and needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, including maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Keep detailed records of children’s progress, attendance, and any incidents that occur.
- Train and mentor new staff on day care center policies and child development best practices.
- Manage classroom resources and budget allocations for supplies and educational materials.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, preferred.
- Previous experience in early childhood education, with a track record of effective teaching and classroom management.
- Certification in early childhood education as required by the state.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, staff, and parents.
- First aid and CPR certification.
Skills:
​- Deep understanding of child development and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team of assistant teachers.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Patience, creativity, and flexibility to adapt to changing situations and different learning needs.
- Proficiency in planning educational activities that are both engaging and beneficial for young children’s development.
Lead teachers are pivotal in ensuring that a day care center provides a supportive
and enriching environment for young children, facilitating their growth and
preparing them for future educational success.
