Reports To: Warehouse Manager FLSA: Non Exempt
Pay Rate: $19/hr
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Warehouse Assistant will be working with the Warehouse Team to ensure that the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team and independently, have strong attention to detail, and be diligent to maintain compliance with procedures. The Warehouse Assistant will work in the main warehouse under the Warehouse Manager to address all shipping and logistics needs. Their primary responsibility will be to assist with putting together product order, stack pallets, organize the warehouse, and print boxes. Working hours are from 2-10pm, 40 hours per week with occasional required overtime.
Requirements:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS
- Assist with putting together product orders with the direction of the warehouse manager and assist in large order fulfillment efforts
- Stack boxes onto pallets and wrap pallets when complete
- Assist with the organization and arrangement of the warehouse as directed by supervisors
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments onto and off of trucks
- Complete paperwork for traceability using a warehouse management system
- Assist with weekly and monthly inventory
- Assist in verifying paperwork accuracy and completeness prior to shipping
- Participate in weekly meetings with the Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and Fulfillment Supervisor to review objectives and priorities
- Work independently to accomplish daily tasks and responsibilities
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all SQF practices and applicable regulatory requirements as trained and directed by management
- Participate in repacking activities as needed and directed
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
REQUIRED SKILL, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Ability to work independently and be a self starter.
- Juggling multiple responsibilities, being on time, meeting deadlines and sticking to schedules.
- Maintaining and organizing records in compliance with the applicable regulations
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Ability to follow direction as assigned and follow through to complete tasks with a high level of integrity
- Actively looking for ways to help people.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Strong and effective communication skills – written & oral.
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- English or Spanish speaking, bilinguality a plus.
- Experience working in a warehouse and/or fulfillment center required, preferably with food products preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English for use of required machinery.
- Experience with Wherefour Warehouse Management System a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm with the possibility of overtime on weekdays and weekends.
- Prolonged standing for extended periods up to 8 hours and squatting and bending repeatedly
- Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 60 pounds
- Working with one or both hands extended overhead
